Stand Tall - One Year Studio Celebration
PREFACE
(first read at 1 year studio celebration on August 24, 2025)
Two years ago, I dreamt of expansion for AIMwell, to hold space in walls of our own. Yesterday, I took the Saturday Power.Three class and said out loud, “I need this everyday.” Today, we celebrate community, movement, and the beginning of something bigger than I imagined.
The growth of a small business hinges on how much you are willing to grow as an individual. A year of wild successes and challenges, I’ve weathered slow seasons, stretched through growing pains, and paused to appreciate wins that only lived on my vision board. The truth is, I am just getting started.
Before I continue, I must thank and praise the team at AIMwell from our teachers to our admin staff. This year is a celebration of your effort, grit, and trust. I also must thank all of our students that have been teachers in their own ways. Thank you for allowing us to flow with you and move forward.
AIMwell is not just a yoga studio. We are creating opportunities for wellness to belong; when yoga isn’t exclusive, but expansive. When healing doesn’t happen in silos, but in community.

The AIMwell journey doesn’t date back one year, not even back to 2023 when I established AIMwell as a pop-up studio at The Borough KC. This journey to change the fabric of health and wellness dates back to 2014 during my undergrad days at Mizzou (Go Tigers!). I realized an issue in “health” and have been on a journey to change and bring positive impact t0 this sector, since.
“To understand how AIMwell came to be, we must take a look back to 2014 (the emotional birth of AIMwell). A decade in the making; you couldn’t have paid my college rent to make me believe it back then. ”
AIMwell exist because everyone deserves to be well. We exist because I recognize that the entry point to a lifestyle of wellness can look different for people. Especially when your walk of life doesn’t introduce yoga or yoga studios as a place where you “belong.” AIMwell is dedicated to bridging that gap. I am excited to expand into more community service initiatives such as Healing Justice. A partnership between KC’s Wellness Court, KC Health Department, and AIMwell to bring wellness to those who are justice involved in the form of an 8 week Yoga - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Program.
I am excited to expand AIMwell’s Community Partnerships, ensuring we have opportunities to give back to other helping communities.
Yoga is a practice that asks for effort, time, vulnerability, and a sense of self curiosity. It comes in forms of movement, breath, and meditation. Anchor your days in non-violence, self-study, and dedication to your light.
Yoga - mindfulness, meditation, and movement, knows no bounds and can provide benefits to every-body who practices.
If year one was about planting the seeds, year two is about watching them root, as our heels do in tadasana. Stand Tall.
Thank you for being here at the beginning of AIMwell’s story. The best chapters are still to come.
Flow with you Soon,
Boni
Special shout outs to God, all my friends and family for your support and encouragement, and the community that keeps coming back!
